Foundry Plugins I Like

Foundry really hums when you find the right plugins. I got a burst of combat prep done last night as soon as I found the Wall Height module, which lets me set variable heights for each wall type, so now I can do elevation better, and I can have people vault walls that are lower than their eyeline, so they can just move over them.

Before that, when I was prepping Numenera that never really got used, I found a journal plugin that looked super nice, and was really organized and had a built in shopmaking feature (Monk’s Enhanced Journals). I don’t need that for Shadowrun though, so I just use the default journals and it works well, almost like a filing cabinet.

Dice So Nice and everything built off it lets you and the players customize their dice, and that’s just a nice touch. Can even put specific effects on your crits or 1s or failed coin flips or whatever.

Combat Carousel is an interesting utility. It basically moves the combat tracker out of the section on the right, that’s shared with the character sheet panel, the chat, etc, so you can manage turns in combat without having to toggle back and forth all the time. It also presents turn order like a CRPG, such as a Baldur’s Gate or a Divinity Original Sin. So if you like that horizontal, rexsizable aesthetic, this may be the way to go.

Game-Icons.Net Icons is literally just a ton of vector icons of all sorts of types and variety. Perfect when you need an icon in a hurry in black or white, and you don’t have to go download them from the site yourself.

PopOut! is a lifesaver to me. It lets your players pop out their character sheet or a journal entry so they can easily tab between the display area and their character sheet, instead of the sheet being overlaid on top of the map area. The only bad thing is it doesn’t work for the GM if you’re accessing the game within Foundry itself. Only works if you remote into the game.

Tokenizer lets you take the character’s portrait and make a quick token from it by adding a border and some other slight effects to it. If you have more types of borders you can add it to the folder to call upon, but the defaults you get are a decent spread.

There are other useful ones that I would use, such as Forged in the Dark roller, Lancer Clocks, and such, if I played those games, but for what I’ve used Foundry for (Numenera and Shadowrun), those ones have been the best so far. If you have any other favorites, I’d love to know.
